Hello World!

Sorry, too cliché? This is my first post, so maybe I’ll start by talking about myself.

Hi! My name is Giuseppe. I’m 24 years old and currently working as a System Engineer at a German logistics company.

In my 9-to-5 job, I primarily work on a Windows-based infrastructure running on a VxRail cluster with virtual machines. We also provide user VMs to over 150 employees through Omnissa Horizon.

In the past, I played a key role in implementing an Identity and Access Management system (tenfold). With this solution, we can now manage more than 250 user accounts and around 200 admin and system accounts efficiently and securely.

In addition, we are now introducing a Privileged Access Management system (wallix). With this, we are implementing a streamlined solution for both internal and external users.

System Engineer by Day – Homelabber by Night

In my free time, I’m a passionate homelabber. A few of the systems I run include:

  • Unraid Server – acting as my NAS and hosting services like Jellyfin, Bookstack, and Syncthing.
  • 3-Node Proxmox Cluster – powering websites (including this one), domain infrastructure, SQL servers, and much more.
  • PBS-Server – based on an old Barracuda Web Security Gateway
  • Repurposed Gaming PC – now running as a dedicated Steam machine.

All my projects are built with the mission of running on repurposed, affordable, or low-power components — perfect for private use.

For networking, I have to admit I’m hooked on Ubiquiti (my personal “Apple of networking devices”). Sorry, budget-build philosophy — here I’ve betrayed you a little. These are certainly not low-cost, but they are definitely high-value components.
